Millions of Ideas

Which to do....

My summer holiday doesn't actually begin until June 10th, but my brain has been fast at work trying to decide what to do with my little ones. My bachelor's degree was in early childhood education, so right away I start thinking, "I need a lesson plan". This is a joke because even as a teacher I would right my lessons and get this fabulous brainstorm on the way to work and switch the lesson completely. Some successful, some not so successful. So far this is what I am thinking...

Math:
Measurement
Money
Counting
Number Recognition
One to on correspondence

Reading:
Sequencing
Letter recognition
Letter sounds
Patterns

Science
(my FAVORITE!):
butterfly life cycles
rock collections
leaves (similarities/differences)
Animals (habitats/food/etc)

Language:
prepositions
ordinal numbers
pragmatic skills
questions

Spanish:
Colors
Animals
Numbers
Songs

Exploration:
water table (sand, beans, rice, water, soap water)
Cooking
nature walks

I have had so many other things floating in my head; I really should have written them down. I realize that some of these things sound a bit advanced for a 3 year old, but I plan on watering them down a bit so they are fun and he doesn't realize he is really learning. :) I am so excited! Stay tuned to see the progress and success.
