This idea is a week old and already I see a change. J has been showing his age (especially at church) and I was ready to scream and this thought popped in my head. He loves his trains, they are a motivator. Bad behavior, no trains. Good behavior, trains. I kept the rules short and sweet and try to recite them when necessary. It has worked so far on several levels. I give a request, and warn that I will "take a letter". It stops the behavior (most of the time, he is still 3). He can earn letters back by following rules and by going pee pee on the potty. He has had his trains taken once, but quickly earned them back by "listening to mommy" at the store. I am not sure he completely gets it, but he has learned that he doesn't want letters taken, potty training has been more successful and he now knows how to spell the word "trains". :)
